Reese Witherspoon - Latest Flick a FLOP

While Reece Witherspoon isn't ready to sing cards just yet, her latest film is already heading home for the holidays.

America's diminutive sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon, may be paired off with the U. S. A.'s tallest wise guy in her latest movie, but the actress had no trouble meeting him at his level. Witherspoon stars opposite Vince Vaughn in Four Christmases, opening on Wednesday, which features the actors playing a self-centred couple forced to visit each of their divorced parents and families during the holidays. In the process, they learn a lot more about each other than either had bargained for.

The film sees Witherspoon returning to her romantic-comedy safe zone after taking a crack at the serious subject of the Iraq war in last year's Rendition, which received a mediocre response both from critics and at the box office. But that doesn't mean she will eliminate dramas from her repertoire. She has had mixed success with some of her ambitious roles --her part as Becky Sharp in Vanity Fair failed to impress many critics, while she did win a best-actress Oscar for her role as June Carter in Walk the Line-- but Witherspoon says she will continue to take chances.
